What to do if you’ve had an accident
Remain calm
After being in an accident, your first job is simple and perhaps the most important: you need to stay calm.
Exchange details
With the other party including names, phone numbers, address, make, model, registration number, and insurance company.
Take photos
If you can, take some photos to help support your claim. We recommend taking photos of all vehicle's involved, the area of the accident and a summary of how it happened will help.
Contact us
It’s very important you contact us as soon as possible and when it is safe to do so. Failing to notify us within 48 hours of the accident, your claim may be void.
So what happens next?
If you’ve submitted a form, it will be reviewed by one of their experienced claims handlers who will be in touch within the next business day to discuss your claim and advise on how it will proceed.
In the meantime, we would strongly advise confirming the details that reflect on your policy. You can do this by viewing your Motor Proposal document, which you will have received by email - along with your policy documents upon purchasing your policy.
Our team will be reviewing your claim along with the details you have submitted. Incorrect or inaccurate details may lead to your policy being voided, a lesser pay-out or a cancellation of your claim as a whole.
Once you have submitted your details, our team will begin completing a few quick checks to validate your motor insurance policy. Once we have completed these checks, our claims team will review your claim form and contact you via email with an update or to provide more information.

How do I cancel my Car, Van or Bike InsuranceThere are a few ways to do this. When is my renewal due?We send out Renewal Invitations 21 Days before the end of your insurance policy to inform you that your policy is up for renewal. In this renewal invitation you will be quoted for the upcoming year. You then have a choice as to whether you would like to renew the policy or let it lapse. Sometimes polices will automatically renew, so act as soon as you get the renewal letter to make sure you have the cover you want.

Do I have to inform you if I am going to Europe on holiday, do I need a green card? Also, do I need to pay for cover abroad?Please contact us if you plan on travel abroad. This is so we can confirm that you have the correct cover for the countries you are visiting. If you are travelling in the EU you currently do not need a Green Card to travel.

Am I covered to drive across Europe?Yes, we do offer EU cover. However, there will be some details which we will need to take from you if you plan to travel to Europe. You can contact us to discuss this further using our live chat or by emailing us.

I received my quote but how do I pay for it?Once you've received your quote, simply let us know you'd like to move forward with your cover by responding to your quotation email. We'll need you to confirm your details before making payment, so we'll send your Motor Proposal document, highlighting all the key features of your cover, in addition to the details enclosed. Once you've reviewed and confirmed them, we'll send across your payment link to collect either a one-time payment or initial deposit.

How long do I have to report a car accident to my insurance company?You should report a claim to your Insurance company as soon as you can. Please check your policy documents as some insurers require a specific time frame for reporting your claim. We have a claims form you can complete on our website or you can call our Claims Team to report a new claim 24/7. It will speed up the process if you have your policy details and incident details to hand.

How do I check if my insurance is active?To check that your insurance is active please visit: AskMID. To check the accuracy of your policy, please refer to your policy documents. It is important to make sure that they cover all your driving requirements correctly.

How long will my quote last for?As our quotes hold a significant discount, all quotations produced by us are active for 48 hours. If you'd like to lock your quote in, you can either make payment or leave a £99 holding deposit, which will be used to extend your quotation for another 30 days. The £99 is non-refundable but will be deducted from your total premium, so don't have to worry about unwanted price increases.
